Hoping to score a gig in Silicon Valley post-graduation, but the competition is fierce! On top of that, struggling with homesickness lately.
Balancing student government involvement with academics is tough - any tips on how to manage both without burning out? Considering transferring to either UC Santa Cruz or UC Riverside for a change of pace. Any pros and cons of each school? Would love some insights from the Cali college crew!
1. Use Google Calendar for EVERYTHING. Color-code classes, meetings, study time, and social stuff. If it's not on the calendar, it doesn't exist.
2. Find your "dead week" rhythm. I go hard on student gov early in the semester, then taper off during midterms and finals. Most clubs understand that academics come first—just communicate!
3. Eat real food. Sounds dumb but when you're running around, you'll survive on coffee and granola bars. Your brain needs actual nutrition to function.
4. One night a week = OFF. No studying, no meetings, just you. Protect it like your life depends on it.
