Working since high school to save up for college has been tough, but hey, it's all part of the hustle. My ultimate dream is to conduct research at a national lab - gotta aim high, right? 🌟

When I'm not buried in case briefs or LSAT prep, you can find me exploring California's national parks - gotta take a breather from all that legal jargon sometimes! Lately, I've been struggling with imposter syndrome - you know, that nagging feeling of not belonging in your own skin. But hey, I'm pushing through.

Currently tackling courses like Constitutional Law, Legal Writing, and Logic and Reasoning. But here's the thing: I just found out I missed the UC Davis deadline - any advice on what steps I can take now? 😅 Speaking of college life, any tips for a Political Science major like me to get involved in campus politics at UC?

Okay Kyle, we need to talk about the national parks thing because SAME. 🌲 I did a solo trip to Yosemite last semester and came back actually able to handle my poli sci readings again. Nature is UNDEFEATED for imposter syndrome.

For your actual question: getting involved in campus politics is less about "politics" and more about relationships. Go to office hours for your poli sci professors. Ask them about their research. Mention your interest in national labs. Professors are the ones who write recommendations for those opportunities.

Also look for undergraduate research positions in the political science department. Even if it's just data entry for a prof's project, it gets your foot in the door.

For the UC deadline—if you're trying to add courses late at Davis, you might need a Permission to Add (PTA) number from the instructor. The policy says you can add after the 10th day with instructor approval, but there's a $3 fee . Small price to pay for staying on track! You're gonna make it happen. 🏔️
