So, teach at Riverside's School of Medicine and I've been knee-deep in California's public health scene for quite while now. It got me thinking about the good ol' days as biology student. We've all been there, right? Staring down at that textbook, feeling like your brain is about to explode with mitochondria and amino acids. Studying biology can be tough, trust me, know it! It's not like memorizing dates in history. You're dealing with complex processes and concepts that require deep understanding.
What worked for me was using flashcards for specific terms and definitions. But the real game-changer was when started relating those terms to real-life situations or examples. Picture this you're learning about photosynthesis, so you take walk around campus looking at different plants, imagining how they're converting sunlight into energy right then and there. Sounds fun, doesn't it? And one more thing before sign off don't underestimate the power of group study! We used to have these intense study sessions back in my college days where we'd quiz each other and explain concepts in our own words.
Those were golden! So, fellow biology enthusiasts who've braved the academic waters here in California what were/are your go-to study strategies? Hey there, folks!
