What's the scoop, fellow scholars and alumni? I'm an old UCI Anteater here, working as stage manager in Hollywood ever since graduated from Irvine’s Drama Department. So, barely remember the process of applying for grants myself it’s been quite few years and all those late nights at rehearsals have probably wiped away half of my college memories anyway. What do remember is that somehow survived without going completely broke (thanks ramen packets!
As far as understand, Cal Grant is still based on financial need, grades, and the school you’re attending right? My kid brother has pretty impressive GPA so hoping that works in his favor. And schools are covered by Cal Grants if I'm not wrong? Any tips or advice on making the application process smoother? Any big 'no-no's he should avoid or best practices he should keep in mind? Anything change over the years should be aware of? Any secret grant guru wisdom to share? And if anyone could break down how the living allowance part works. That would save me from Googling all night! It's high time we demystify this Cal Grant labyrinth! Help sister out here.
