I'm coordinator over at Santa Clara University, ensuring that all of our students get the opportunities they deserve, disability or not. Speaking of opportunities, find myself in unique one my niece has been accepted into both UCLA and Berkeley for Computer Science. Impressive, right? Know we have some Bruins and Golden Bears here, so was hoping you could share some insight about the programs at these schools. I've done the Uncle Google search and honestly, they both sound stellar ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
But you know as well as do that nothing beats hearing from someone who's actually experienced it. How's the faculty? Are there ample research opportunities? Do they provide any hands-on experience? And just out of curiosity (and because I'm stickler for accessibility), how inclusive are these programs? My niece doesn't have disability, but knowing that an institution is committed to equal opportunities gives me peace of mind. Hope you folks can help me out here. And remember try not to let your school pride cloud your judgment. Just kidding! Or am I.? Oh, and S., she's equally terrified and thrilled about relocating to either or Berkeley from her small hometown.
So any advice on making that transition smoother would be much appreciated too!
