Balancing work and study ⚖️ How I completed UNH's grant writing certificate in just 5 weeks?

When I saw that the University of New Hampshire offers a 5-week Grant Writing & Management Certificate , I was skeptical. Could anyone really learn grant writing that fast? But with a full-time job and two kids, I needed something intensive but manageable.

The program is 30 hours total, mixing live online instruction with independent study . Classes meet Wednesday mornings for 3 hours over 5 weeks . The instructor, Elizabeth Haffey, is incredibly knowledgeable and provides 1:1 feedback on your work 🎓🎓.

What I appreciated most was the practical focus on the four-step grant process: Plan, Research, Apply, Manage . We covered everything from evaluating organizational capacity to managing awarded grants and completing required reporting . It's perfect for beginners and also great for professionals wanting formal training.

The cost is $999 plus a $50 certificate fee . It's not the cheapest option, but the personalized feedback and live instruction made it worth it for me. Plus, you earn a certificate from a respected university.

I finished feeling genuinely prepared to write and manage grants. If you learn better with live instruction and accountability, check out UNH's program!

$999 plus fees?! 😳 That's steep for someone like me working part-time through school. I'm sure the live instruction is great, but I could take three community college courses for that price. Was there anything in the curriculum that you couldn't have learned from a $50 textbook and some YouTube tutorials? Not trying to be negative—genuinely asking if the 1:1 feedback was worth the premium. Help me justify the cost!
