I love playing intramural sports to de-stress from my intense courses like Digital Logic Design and Computer Architecture. 💻

Currently, I'm struggling with financial stress, making it hard to focus on my hardware projects and circuit designs. Can anyone recommend the best research opportunities for a Computer Engineering student in California? 🤔

I'm looking to enhance my skills and make a difference in the tech industry. Any tips on balancing academics with personal challenges like finances?

Excited to hear your insights on juggling coursework and real-world responsibilities! Let's support each other through this journey. 🙌

If you want research that actually pays and looks good on resumes, look at internships with Solidigm in Rancho Cordova or Meta in Menlo Park . Both hire Computer Engineering students for hardware/firmware work. Meta pays $6.8k-$10k/month for interns which is CRAZY.

For academic research, UC schools have so much funded stuff. UCSB's CAMP program is great for undergrads [$6k stipend] . UCLA's RIPS lets you work on industry projects with actual companies .

The key is applying EARLY. Like now. Deadlines are Feb/March for summer. Also talk to your professors - so many have NSF funding and need research assistants but don't always advertise. Go to office hours just to chat about their work. That's how I got my first paid position.
