Cursive practice question: How do you spell writing in beautiful script?

I've been practicing my cursive handwriting lately, and I wanted to write a beautiful quote about writing itself. But I realized I wasn't sure how to spell writing in a way that would look balanced and elegant on the page. It's such a common word, but in cursive, those loops and connections matter.

I practiced a few versions and found that 'writing' flows really nicely in cursive. The 'w' starts with that lovely upward swoop, the 'r' connects smoothly, and the 'i' dot adds a nice detail. The 't' cross can be flourished a bit, and the '-ing' ending has those descending loops that look so graceful.

What I love about practicing words like this is that you really focus on each letter. You notice things you never think about when typing. The single 't' in 'writing' means you get to make just one beautiful cross stroke, not two. Now I have a whole page of 'writing' practice in different cursive styles. It's become my favorite word to write. Anyone else have words they love practicing in cursive?

I'm a graphic design major and we actually study handwriting for typography inspiration. The word "writing" in cursive is interesting because of the rhythm—the 'w' and 'r' are low, then the 'i' and 't' bring the eye up, then the 'ing' drops down again. It's a whole visual journey!

Have you tried it in different styles? Spencerian script makes those loops extra dramatic. Copperplate gives you those thick and thin contrasts. Cursive is basically drawing with words. Now I want to go practice!
