I used to think freelance writing meant blogging. And blogging seemed... boring? No offense to bloggers! But writing 1,500 words about "How to Clean Your Kitchen" just wasn't exciting to me. 😅

Then I discovered copywriting. And everything changed.

Copywriting is writing that sells. Emails, landing pages, sales letters, social media ads. And honestly? It's way more fun (and way more profitable) than content writing. I get to be creative, persuasive, and strategic all at once. Plus, businesses will pay significantly more for words that make them money.

Here's what I've learned about freelance copywriting:
  1. It's not about fancy words. It's about understanding humans—their fears, desires, and objections. My psychology minor finally feels useful! 🧠
  2. Results matter more than style. If an email gets opens and clicks, nobody cares if it's "beautiful" writing.
  3. You can start with small projects. I began writing email sequences for a local coffee shop. Then a skincare brand. Then a tech startup. Each project taught me something new.
  4. The money is real. I charge 5x more for copywriting than I ever did for blog posts.
If you're bored with standard freelance writing, look into copywriting. It's challenging, rewarding, and actually kind of fun. Anyone else here a copywriter? Drop your favorite resource below!
