I'm transferring to SDSU as a junior and I'm terrified of being the new kid. A student review said: “There's a transfer orientation, which helps. You meet people in the same boat” . Another said: “If you live off campus, you have to be intentional. Join a club or you'll feel isolated.”
The Transfer Student Center offers events, advising, and a community space. A reviewer said: “I went to a transfer coffee hour and met my best friend there.” Another mentioned: “The Transfer Center also has a mentorship program where you're paired with an upperclassman who transferred.”
I'm also looking at clubs. One student said: “The SDSU outdoor club is huge. They do hikes and camping trips. It's a great way to meet people.” Another recommended: “Join a club related to your major. You'll meet people with similar interests and also build your network.”
