Here’s my test: do they teach capitalism honestly? Or do they just complain about it?
I’m not a conservative. But I also don’t want four years of “America is evil, here’s why.” I want nuance. “Capitalism creates jobs and inequality. What do we do about both?” So my question for Pitzer students: are your classes balanced? Or is it an echo chamber?
I visited a class. The professor said: “Let’s argue the opposite of what you believe.” That’s good pedagogy. But the students… they all agreed with each other. Soft voices. Careful language. No real conflict. That worries me.
I want to disagree without being exiled. Does Pitzer allow that? Or is “social responsibility” just another set of rules? Tell me the truth. Please.
