First-gen student trying to pave my way into the entertainment industry. 🌟 Currently struggling with imposter syndrome and nailing down those complex proofs in Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, and Differential Equations. 🤯 Any tips on writing tools to level up my proof game and grasp those theoretical concepts better? 📝 It's a real challenge for me, so any advice from fellow students would be gold! 🌟

Real Analysis especially—those epsilon-delta proofs haunted my dreams.

Here are the tools that saved me:

  1. Overleaf/LaTeX - Write all your proofs in LaTeX. It forces you to be precise and organized. The free version is plenty.
  2. ProofWiki - Seriously, this site is gold. It has proofs for almost everything, written in different levels of detail. Great for when you're stuck and need to see how the logic flows.
  3. The "friend method" - Write your proof, then explain it out loud to someone (or even just to yourself). If you can't explain it clearly, your proof isn't clear.
  4. UC has free tutoring in the math department! I didn't use it for way too long because I was embarrassed, but the grad students there are actually super helpful and don't judge.
Also—entertainment industry + math is such a cool combo. There's huge demand for data people in entertainment.
